When strolling around the "Golden Square" or the pedestrian zone, it is hard to imagine that you just need to head down a passageway to escape and find yourself in a small inner courtyard. La Maison de Marie is an insider address where guests look forward to a privileged moment with family or friends. Here, even business lunches have a special flavour.
In Nice, in keeping with tradition, the canon in the Château strikes the mid-day hour. Time to choose the quietness of a table on the shaded terrace and watch the ballet performed by sparrows, begging for crumbs.
In the evening, when weather permits, guests also opt for dining outdoors. Because at dusk, La Maison de Marie adds a note of intimacy to its refinement.
For both lunch and dinner, the names of the dishes make your mouth water : home smoked salmon, cooked beetroot, cream with Raifort cheese and "salinù" hazelnuts, the "courbine" rather like a "bouillabaisse", or Théo Pean poultry, a roasted but also pan-fried fillet… Not forgetting the generous rib of pork for two, by Éric Ospital, served in a copper pan at table and sliced before the guests ; or grilled fish trimmed just before being eaten. The waiters then demonstrate all their expertise.
The wine-list presents the sommelier's selection, recommending the best pairings of dishes and wines, and sharing his discoveries and favourites with his guests.
